Railway Recruitment Cell has been formed for recruitment of Group 'D' staff in Railways.
The following posts are recruited for the aforesaid RRC Cells : Gate Man, Helper II, Khalasi, Key man, Peon, Porter, Safaiwala, Sanitary cleaner, Sweeper
- RRC / RRB Group D selection sequence : The selection procedure is same for all Group D posts; There are total three stages in the selection process :-Written Examination, Physical efficiency Test & Medical Examination , a Viva-Voice ( Interview ) , Appointment
- RRC / RRB Group D written Examination time duration : RRC Group D written examination will be of one and half hour duration with 100 questions only.
- RRC / RRB Group D Negative Marking system : There will be 1 Marks for each correct answer. There will be negative marking for marking wrong answers. 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

PROCEDURE FOR RECRUITMENT
The recruitment procedure consists of Written Examination followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination.
Written Examination Syllabus
The
Question Paper for the Written Examination shall be based on Class 10th
standard consisting of 100 Multiple Choice (Four) objective type
questions aimed to assess
- Mathematics: HCF, LCM, Percentage, Problem based on Train, Boat & Stream, Time and Distance, Profit and Loss, Average & Number System.
- General Intelligence (Reasoning): Data Interpretation, Series problems, Age problems, Data Insufficiency & Arrangement problems.
- General Knowledge: Important Events, Important Days, Current Affairs, Politics, Sports, Cinema, Books and Authors.
Railway Group D Exam Pattern:
Examination Time Duration: RRC Group D written examination
will be of one and half hour duration with 100 questions only.
Question Paper: Candidates have been permitted to take away
their used question booklet after written examination. The question paper will
be printed in Hindi, English, Urdu and Maithili.
The criterion for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
(i) Male candidates should be able to run for a distance of 1500 metres in 6 minutes in one chance
(ii) Female candidates should be able to run for a distance of 400 metres in 3 minutes in one chance.
- The persons with disabilities are exempted from appearing for PET.
- The entire proceeding of PET is to be video graphed.
- The candidates whoever successfully passes in written examination and PET shall be called for verification with original certificates and medical examination.
- After the verification of all relevant original documents of passed candidates, they shall be subjected to a Medical Examination. Clearing the Medical Examination is mandatory. Only those, who clear the Medical examination successfully, will be included in the Final Merit List, to the extent of vacancies available.
